Eugene Lowdown Restaurant has a New Home Plus National Night Out on Tuesday
Everything Happening In Eugene In Your Inbox Twice A Week!
A new sandwich counter lands, and Springfield's National Night Out brings neighbors to Willamalane Sports Park.

Good morning. It's Friday, July 31. Late July is doing that thing where lunch plans suddenly matter and the community calendar starts making weeknight demands. If you're feeling torn between a new sandwich stop and a neighborly meetup, you're in the right place. Alright, here's today's edition of your Eugene Lowdown.

Six Sandwiches, Zero Bad Choices

What started as a monthly pop-up earlier this year now has a permanent home. Maude & Sons is now open in west Eugene with a compact menu of six sandwiches, mostly priced at $16 or $17, plus drinks and specials. The shop is primarily for pickup, with a few tables for anyone staying for lunch.

National Night Out Set for Tuesday

Springfield Police will host National Night Out on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Willamalane Sports Park in Springfield. The annual event is intended to strengthen police-community partnerships and neighborhood connections. Attendees can see SPD vehicles, special units and teams, and visit booths from community organizations serving Springfield.
