Eugene Lowdown A Grand Pizza Opening Plus Your Walktober Lowdown
Everything Happening In Eugene In Your Inbox Twice A Week!
Walktober promotes 50-plus themed walks across Lane County, and MECCA's Object Afterlife exhibition continues through Oct. 31.

Good morning. It's Tuesday, October 6. This month is basically a choose-your-own-adventure: take a themed walk, pop into an upcycled art show, or follow your nose to a new food truck. Eugene and Springfield are keeping it nicely simple - get out, look around, repeat. Alright, here's today's edition of your Eugene Lowdown.

Your October Plans: 50-Plus Walks

The Walktober initiative is promoting more than 50 themed walks across Lane County throughout October. The schedule includes a Springfield Mayor's Walk in the Marcola Meadows neighborhood. Walktober was created in 2023 by the cities of Eugene and Springfield, the Lane Council of Governments, and local businesses to encourage walking and community exploration.

Upcycled Art Show Continues at MECCA

That random pile of corks, fabric scraps, and who-knows-what? Local artists turned it into gallery-worthy work for MECCA's Object Afterlife Art Challenge. The upcycled show is now on view at MECCA (555 High Street) through Oct. 31, and it's free to check out.

A New Pizza Truck Rolls In

If your week needed more melty motivation, Draggin' Fire Pizza just joined The Sweet Market lineup. The food truck held a soft opening last Wednesday, then a grand opening last Thursday at The Sweet Market On Main & Food Truck Pavilion at 4425 Main Street, with music by Isaac Barrager.
