Good morning. It's Tuesday, September 8. If your week needs a little structure (or at least a good excuse to leave the house), you're in luck: downtown plans are multiplying, and local shopping is getting its own Sunday spotlight. Alright, here's today's edition of your Eugene Lowdown.
Pints Are Back on Main
Oakshire Commons is back in business after a brief pause, reopening last Friday at noon at 416 Main St in downtown Springfield. The taproom is pouring Oakshire beer plus cider, wine, kombucha and non-alcoholic drinks, with square-pan pizza, salads and snacks on the menu and outside food welcome.
Twelve Blocks, One Big Saturday
Springfield's Block Party is going full stretch on Saturday, taking over 12 downtown blocks from 4 to 10 p.m. The free event adds a classic car show and grows to three music stages, while favorites like karaoke, mechanical bull riding, food vendors and Herencia Hispana keep the whole district buzzing.
Local Makers, Big Sunday Energy
The Collective Market is scheduled for Sunday from 2-7 p.m. at the Farmers Market Pavilion and Plaza in Eugene. The free public event will feature local small businesses, artisans and entrepreneurs, along with shopping, handcrafted goods, food, drinks, live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
