Eugene Lowdown Eugene Weekend: Scavenger Hunt + Halloween Fun
Everything Happening In Eugene In Your Inbox Twice A Week!
Teams of five, clue-chasing across Eugene and Springfield Saturday, then next week the Cascades line gets shiny new Airo trains.

Good morning. It's Friday, September 25. Fall is doing that thing where your calendar fills up fast: a citywide scavenger hunt is ready to turn Eugene and Springfield into one big clue board, and the Cascades line is about to get a shiny new ride. Alright, here's today's edition of your Eugene Lowdown.

Scavenger Hunt With Heart Hits Saturday

CLF Network is turning Saturday into a citywide scavenger hunt with a mission. "Quest for a Cause" runs 11 a.m.-5 p.m. across Eugene and Springfield, where teams of up to five will solve clues, complete missions, and raise money that directly supports underserved children in Lane County.

Candy, Crafts, and Costume Chaos

Willamalane's Halloween Carnival is set for Oct. 25 at the Bob Keefer Center, bringing indoor trick-or-treating, games, crafts, and plenty of candy for kids of all ages. Admission is $5 for ages 17 and under, adults get in free, and registration opens at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1.

All Aboard for Cascades' New Look

Train travel is getting a glow-up Wednesday as Amtrak begins Airo service on the Cascades corridor. The new fleet will serve Eugene, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia, launching the first step in Amtrak's nationwide upgrade. Eight trainsets are planned here, with the rest joining the route through 2027.
