Eugene Lowdown First Friday ArtWalk, Plus City Hall's Art Warmup
Everything Happening In Eugene In Your Inbox Twice A Week!
Friday brings a free Downtown ArtWalk, plus a City Hall reception that proves bureaucracy can, in fact, be colorful.

Good morning. It's Tuesday, August 4. If your week needs a little more color (and a little less inbox), Eugene's art scene is happily volunteering as tribute. Consider this your nudge to pencil in a couple easy, free stops. Alright, here's today's edition of your Eugene Lowdown.

Free Friday Night, Full of Color

Friday's First Friday ArtWalk turns the Farmers Market Pavilion into a launchpad for a downtown art crawl. From 5:30-8 p.m., visitors can browse the Artist Marketplace, grab an ArtWalk Guide and check out free demos, hands-on activities and gallery stops presented by Lane Arts Council.

City Hall Gets an Artful Friday

Eugene City Hall is giving Friday afternoon a creative upgrade with a free reception for the "Salon des Refuses" exhibition from 3:30-5 p.m. The show features selected work by 15 artists across painting, photography, drawing and sculpture, all centered on reflection, connection and plenty of local color.
